Online Meeting with Vietnam Trade Office in New Zealand to introduce HawaExpo 2023

On the morning of November 16, 2022, HAWA held an online meeting with the Vietnam Trade Office in New Zealand to promote HawaExpo 2023 to buyers. Attending the New Zealand Trade Office were Ms. Tran Kim Oanh, commercial counselor and officials of the Trade Office.

Although New Zealand is a market with a small capacity, the demand for interior and exterior products is high and there is a lot of potential for Vietnamese exporters. In the first 8 months of 2022, Vietnam’s Wood & Wood Products export turnover to New Zealand increased by nearly 5% over the same period last year. Similarly, New Zealand is a key exporter of wood materials for Vietnam’s furniture industry.

Ms. Tran Kim Oanh shared that the Trace Office always creates favorable conditions and best supports HAWA and wood enterprises, taking advantages of the Vietnamese wood industry’s strengths to remove technical barriers and bring Vietnamese products to the New Zealand market. As for the HawaExpo fair, from November 2022, the Trade Office will promote communication to large buyers and invite businesses to visit the fair. At the same time, the Trade Office will connect many new potential buyers to increase sales opportunities for businesses.

New Zealand businesses have strengths in technology application capacity, experience and ability to proactively source input materials. Therefore, besides inviting buyers to attend HawaExpo, the Trade Office and HAWA can coordinate to organize business delegations to visit, research investment opportunities, and transfer technology into the Vietnamese wood industry as well as opening up many cooperation opportunities for wood industry enterprises of the two countries.
