Ms. Tran Thu Quynh, Commercial Counselor of Vietnam in the Canadian market said, “The furniture market in Canada this year is somewhat quieter than in previous years, but so far the market has also shown signs of gradual recovery. In the long run, Canada is still a potential market for Vietnam. Canadian businesses tend to look to foreign supply partners to produce for Canadian brands.”

Ms. Tran Thu Quynh emphasized Vietnam’s strengths within the furniture industry, underscoring the advantages offered by the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).

Vietnam is well-positioned to appeal to Canadian buyers seeking reliable supply chain connections in the Canadian market. Additionally, the Canadian government is keen on promoting the export of wood materials to Vietnam, solidifying bilateral relationships for sustainable growth.

Promotion Efforts for HawaExpo

The HawaExpo fair has been widely promoted to Canadian buyers through the Trace Office’s information channels. Especially on the portal VnTradetoCa built by the Trade Office, this is one of the prestigious gateways to promote Vietnamese products and services to the Canadian market. Up to now, 3-4 businesses in Quebec have planned to attend the fair. At the same time, the Trade Office and HAWA will work closely to organize a delegation of Canadian buyers to attend the fair.

HAWA and the Trade Office will collaborate closely to arrange a delegation of Canadian buyers to participate in HawaExpo 2023. In addition to engaging with exhibitors at the fair, HAWA will design supporting activities for Canadian buyers, including factory visits and trade connections with Vietnamese manufacturers.
