On the morning of October 28, 2022 at HAWA Office, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh – Chairman of HAWA, Mr. Nguyen Van Liem – Chairman of BIFA and representatives of HAWA Executive Committee welcomed and worked with the delegation of the US Embassy in Vietnam.
The delegation included Mr. Rafph Bean – Agricultural Counselor, Mr. Benjamin Petlock – Senior Agricultural Attache, Mr. Alexander Tatsis – Economic Section Chief, Mr. Kiet Vo – Senior Agricultural Specialist.
Discussion on Vietnam’s Wood Industry
The meeting openly discussed the operation of Vietnam’s wood industry, updated information, and responded to comments from member enterprises related to the current situation of Import and Export of Wood & Wood Products of the two countries.
The US Embassy in Vietnam congratulates HAWA on successfully organizing the Hoa Mai Design Award – the 19th American Hardwood Furniture Design Contest.
Proposals for HawaExpo 2023
The Association’s leaders introduced the Ho Chi Minh Export Furniture Fair (HawaExpo) taking place from 22-25/2/2023 at SECC. Thereby, they proposed the support and coordination of the US Embassy in promoting the fair, connecting buyers, supporting the organizers to welcome and organize US delegations to visit the fair.
The US Embassy also informed that more events in the near future will be organized and tightly coordinated with associations to deploy to the Wood industry business community.
